Application fields and main uses of high purity quartz sand
High-purity quartz sand generally refers to quartz powder with SiO 2 content higher than 99.9%, which is the main raw material of quartz glass and quartz crucible. Its high-grade products are widely used in large-scale integrated circuits, solar cells, optical fibers, lasers, aerospace, military and other industries. High purity quartz sand has excellent chemical stability, high insulation voltage resistance and very low bulk expansion coefficient. It is an indispensable and important raw material for high-tech industries such as electronic core devices, photoconductive communication materials, solar cells and so on. It is also the basic raw material for the production of quartz crucibles, single crystal silicon rod containers and chips.
Application fields and main uses of high purity quartz sand
High purity quartz sand is the main material of quartz glass. Quartz glass has been called "glass king" because it has a series of special physical and chemical properties.
High temperature resistance
It has excellent high temperature resistance, high temperature resistance as high as 1100 - 1200 (?) C, 800 (?) C higher than ordinary glass, and its melting point is similar to that of platinum (platinum). The thermal expansion rate is very small. The average thermal expansion coefficient between 0 and 1000 (?) C is 5.4 x 10-7, which is equivalent to 1/6 of ceramics and 1/20 of ordinary glass. The addition of titanium into quartz glass can inhibit the formation of ultra-low expansion quartz glass whose expansion coefficient is close to zero.
Excellent spectral properties
Quartz glass has excellent spectral properties. It can not only pass through visible light, but also through infrared and ultraviolet rays. Quartz glass is a good acid-resistant material, equivalent to 30 times of acid-resistant ceramics, equivalent to 150 times of stainless steel (nickel-chromium alloy).

Excellent Electrical Insulation Material
Quartz glass is an excellent electrical insulating material. Its resistance is 10,000 times that of ordinary glass. Its resistivity is 1018_. cm at 20 C. Its insulation strength is 250 KV/, and its vacuum degree can reach (10-6 Mpa).
Good comprehensive performance
The value of quartz glass lies in its good comprehensive performance. For example: it has high temperature resistance and small expansion coefficient, burning it red into water without bursting; it has high temperature resistance, good light transmission, good sealing, is the best material for new electric light source; it has high temperature resistance, high purity is the best material for manufacturing integrated circuits - - - and so on.
quartz glass
Quartz glass is used in almost all walks of life, but because of the complex technology of quartz glass products and the high price of raw materials, the price of quartz glass is also expensive, which limits the large use of quartz glass. The main varieties and uses are briefly introduced here.
